Gillespie Creek Hike
Submitted by suzglass on Wed, 05/13/2009 - 9:30pmThis hike began at the top of the ridge above Gillespie Creek. We hiked down a draw on the right and ended up above these pictured falls. We had to go back up, cross the creek and found a slide down into the canyon. From there we hiked to the falls, then followed the bluffs. When they started veering away from the creek, we hiked down to the creek and followed it to the road that leads to Indian Tombs Hollow. Two weeks later I led a group back. We hiked from Indian Tomb Hollow to the falls and back.

Wolfpen Creek - Sipsey River Hike
Submitted by suzglass on Sat, 05/31/2008 - 8:08pmToday one of WildSouth's hikes followed Wolfpen Creek to the Sipsey River. We crossed and joined trail 209 heading east. We followed 209 to Fall Creek Falls, then on to cross Borden Creek. From there we went south to the Sipsey River Rec area and shuttled back to the cars at the cemetary. There has been good rainfall this week and the current was stronger than anticipated, but it was manageable.
