I just found out that sometimes the Boy Scout Troop will supply the tents so that they are all the same and it looks good at a Camporee.  I did a little internet research and came up with three possible tents.  Here are links to the tents and their reviews.  For Boy Scouts would you pick one of these and which one or is there a better choice?  Remember, it can't be expensive but it must be better than Wally World quality or it just won't last.

BL67, Although I am not personally familiar with the Eureka tents, In my opinion they look like decent choices. I would consider the fact that one has a single entrance and the other has two, as well as two vestibules for storage. Maybe consider difference in ease of setting up and possible repair needs in the event of breakage (two doors two zippers to possibly malfunction).

Another Alatrails member that hasn't been too active lately, Lawnmowwer, is involved in scouting too. He spoke favorably of Eureka tents in one of his earlier posts. He also mentioned another retailer/brand that supposedly offers discounts to scouts and that is Alps Mountaineering. I'm not familiar with their gear but you may want to check it out.

Hope this helps, and good luck and Congrats on the transition from the Cubs to the Boy Scouts.  Smiley  Rob

Used the Eureka tent for a few years.  It was a GREAT tent for that price point.  2 adults sleeping in it on a COLD night created a little condensation but it never leaked and was easy enough to set up.

The Eurika Timberline is a well known scout tent. Lots of troops have used that version for many years. Overall I think any of the three would be solid.

We have a Alps Mountaineering Extreme 3 tent for canoe camping, its been solid thus far. It has seen some nasty weather before with no problems. I also like the fact that their based out of Missouri.
