Its the Journey

« on: September 03, 2008, 07:32:44 AM »

OK I am going to post a list of what I think I need to get and what I want Smiley
What are you thinking would make your hike easier, more comfortable or you just want the new toy:)

French press coffee cup
another hammock (DH took mine and retired his tent)
climbing rope for the homemade hammocks and to change out the ones in the hammocks now
pack cover for DH
small pack for DD2 (next year)
I would really like to find a large frying pan that didn't weight so much! anyone?

WANTS:
A new tarp that is big enough to wrap closed.
some hiking moccassins( bit spendy tho:()
map making software I have AutoCad and  plotter

REALLY BIG WANT/NEED:
Popup Camper with the toy rack. One that has a heater.(DDs go off to competitions and some are overnight and for one year of motels we could buy a camper:P that we could use all the time!

I will think of more later:)

I have a 32oz Coleman SS french press I've never used (prefer my Merlitta Drip cone). Make me an offer.

For a BPing frypan, I've pretty much given up, due to the needed metal disc needed for even heat distribution. But REI makes a Ti model but its only 7.5". Barely big enough for a pancake or a couple of eggs. http://www.rei.com/product/764179

Oops. My bad, they have a 10" hard anodized Al skillet. But @ 18 oz, I wouldn't carry it. Guess I'll be eating oatmeal.

Needs:
Pack Cover (just not sure for which pack yet, we have 5 total (non-daypacks))
Compression sack? (bought a EMS LT 20 sleeping bag off eBay last week and need to see how it fits in the DIY G4 pack)
new bite valve for hydration bladder
A cozy for FBC
guy line tensioners.

Wants:
Titanium pot/mug
New/nicer pack, All my current ones are used/thrift store finds. Kinda need something in between the 5500 in^3 Camp Trails, the 4000 cu external and DD1's 35l pack, and has to be lightweight and have water bottle pockets (I think the BPA makes water taste better.  Cheesy).
time/$ to do more hiking/BPing

Will they (your average big box home improvement place) sell just a foot or 2 of the Reflectix? I don't need 25 feet.

Adding :
Utensils  ( mine is all rusty ( older than sin I think tho sooo)

FD1: I want to hold out for a single cup french press yk? like its made in the cup you drink it from?

About the Reflectix... Call a local contractor and see if they have some left over?? I usually pick all my scraps up from the contractors and the builders they will tell me where the stuff is if I am dumpster diving for supplies. Got some great bricks for my pizza oven heehee

I am curious... I have a car sun reflector is it not made from a similar material as Reflectix? could not a dollar store one work as well as buying a whole roll of the stuff?
