Im in the market for a new tent and hoping some of the experts can help in my decision making.  Here is what i do and my qualifications:
Mostly car camping(i have a small tent if backpacking)
Will be in the southeastern US
Temps will be nightime no higher than 75 and lows in the teens
weather will be anything dished out: sun, snow, wind, rain, etc
will mostly be me, but wife and large dog my accompany me---i travel with alot of gear--gear hog sorry, cant help it
Camping mostly revolves around canoeing or rafting so i will camp when it rain or could rain....

Feature i would like to have:
2 doors
vestibules to store gear and allow me to store gear in one and use the other as an entry/exit point of tent
at least a 72" height to be able to stand to change clothes
Able to accommodate a cot that measures 85L x 40W x 20.5H
Good ventilation for those nights when it might be humid
Easy to set up and break down by one person
Excellent quality and name recognition

The tents im currently look at are:
Mountain Hardwear Casa 6--doesnt have 2 doors
North Face Foundation 6 or Trailhead 6
Sierra Design Bedouin 6
Marmot Townhouse 6
Big Agnes Big House 6

Any and all comments, opinions and suggestions are welcome...

Thanks
Allen

I really like all the Big Agnes products. I can't speak much for the big house  but if it is as good as the seedhouse line it shouldn't do you wrong.

I bought a Kelty Trail Dome 6 back in the winter and have been quite happy w/ it. If there is weakness to it, its that it gets a lil' muggy with the fly on but un-guyed. But that was in the summer and ordinarily we use it with the fly half-off, ready to pull on if it rains.

When we want to use a double size air mattress etc we take a 6 man coleman we got at Dicks Sporting goods for 89 bucks. It has treated us well.
Weighs as much a horse, but its done us right. We were iffy buying a coleman brand tent but were in a crunch for time and it was Sunday so most outdoor stores were closed. I will have to say even though its coleman, shes tough...and has never leaked during windy nasty storms.
What are your intentions of using this tent? Plan on carrying it?

I've noticed some very nice 4, 6-person, and larger dome tents recently at Bass Pro Shops... Columbia, Eureka, and some other brand that escapes my memory just now.  They are marketing these towards the hunter, as a hunting camp setup I think.  They have every possible amenity and are quite impressive.  They would make a great family, car-camping tent, IMHO.

My wife and I used a Sears cabin style 4-person tent for several years with the air mattress, car-camping setup.  It worked quite well and except for the air-mattress deflating sometimes was never a major problem.  We utilized a very large (10+ man), multi-room tent, once at a church youth outing that also served well (don't remember the brand) -- it was a job to erect!

All that said, the larger tents are great for car-camping or anywhere weight and volume is not an issue.  I think any of the tents you listed would serve you well in those situations.
