For some reason we've had changing leaves on some trees up here since early September this year. Expect an early fall color season, unless you guys got more rain since I left than we got here.

Fay came so late I'm not sure it will have a large impact on the leaf timing, but I'm sure the streams are still flowing great from her! The leaves should at least be better than last year. They changed in like, 36 hours, and fell nearly as fast, at least in the parts of AL I was frequenting.

Awww  Shocked Can you feel the jealousy oozing through the screen at you. I have the worlds biggest nightmare of a server migration going on for the next 2 weeks. So while you are out there enjoying the beauty and serenity of sipsey stop for a moment and picture in your mind a frazzled young computer exec slaving away in a dark basement office over 2-3 thousand vb scripts written by various people over the course of several years and trying to find all references to a server that has been in place so long no one remembers exactly what all it does. Yes think of that and you will know 1: That I would gladly lie, cheat, or steal to be in your position and 2: That I have already offered pretty much all of my coworkers bribes right down to waxing their car to try to get out of this but alas outside of being shot in the face with an AA-12 stuck on fully automatic there is absolutely no refusal on doing this one.

Have fun

I'm going to go cry now

Well, I won't complain about being busy, as I'm still looking for a job. Picked a great time to graduate, eh?

But I sure wish I was in Sipsey, or at least Alabama. All the parks here cost an arm and a leg to get in, or aren't worth the moderate drive, or are more than a moderate drive, and gas is 30-40c more here. I should drive out to Delaware Water Gap or something, but I'm just not feeling it up here.

Geezzz  Matthew...

Almost scared to tell you about how I get so bored all week, that I have to go out hiking somewhere local, just to have something to do.

Retiring to early can be boring...      I even went to a job fair the other week.  Applied and when I got home, told the spouse.... if they call, I think I'll tell them I must have been drunk that day... I don't want a job !  <G>

My dad worked at the same job for 36 years and finally retired.

That lasted exactly 6 months before he went back to work.

I asked him why and he said he had to because my mother was going to drive him to an early grave if he didn't.
