Thought this was a very interesting read. I'm staying tuned for Part II

Tuscaloosa News: Test of Friendship

"...Patrick knew Carter was dead as soon as he pulled him from the water.

The pre-med student knew his friend had been under water far too long, and there was no telling what kind of damage his body suffered on the way down.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Patrick Dauphin had practiced it on clinical dummies, but this would be his first real test — here in the dark, guided only by the beam of a flashlight held by a fraternity brother standing on a ledge 20 feet above....

...About a half hour after pulling Carter from the pool, paramedics from the Moulton Fire Department arrived. They determined it was too dangerous for them to get to the victim with their equipment. Since Patrick and Keith already were nearby, they sent down a basket and neck brace and let his friends strap Carter in as the paramedics talked them through the steps..."

Stay Tuned.

Haven't we seen the first article regarding this a while back? I searched and couldn't find it.

So is he ok?  The article shows a picture of him "revisiting" the spot where it happened on October 11th?  I'm interested to know if he came out with no permanent damage.

That's what I'm wondering too. I mean, the cold water was a smart move to keep everything slowed down, but I'm curious about the overall outcome.

Again, it just goes to show that the falls are dangerous no matter what.

Don't be sorry! There's no problem in sharing.

I was very anxious to see the outcome, but my internet wasn't opening the news page for some reason. That's definitely a story to keep in mind!

I had not heard about this event.  Thank you guys for sharing...

"Katyal said his knowledge and experience only went so far in assisting Carter, who went home after 29 days in the hospital.

'There are other powers at work here. We only do what we can do,' Katyal said. 'We would treat him the same way we'd treat a hundred other patients and not get the same result.

'So a power beyond us is at work — I'm certain of that.'"

Awesome, GOD!

Part IV

"...He doesn’t recall attempting to break more wood for the dying fire and, from a recoil of a thick limb, being hurtled over a cliff.

“It feels good to put a location with a lot of scars,” Carter said, standing over the pool that almost claimed his life. “It kind of puts closure ... and puts everything in perspective to see what I fell off of, see what great friends I have and what they had to go through to help me out. ...

But doctors believe the actions of Patrick Dauphin and Keith Gray, the two 20-year-old Birmingham-Southern College roommates who pulled their Sigma Chi fraternity brother from the pool and restored his heartbeat and breathing, were key to saving Carter’s life.

Without their efforts, Dr. Deepak Katyal at Huntsville Hospital would have had little, if anything, to work with.

“It is to an absolute credit to his friends that, in the middle of the night, in darkness, not knowing how far he fell or where he was, they were able to drag him out of the water,” Katyal said. “With something like this, it truly does start in the field and go from there. And yeah, his friends did a phenomenal job.”

“God put Carter here for a reason,” Gray said. “He changed six guys’ lives ..., and basically just showed us what He could do. It’s been a crazy experience.”..."

Talk about an ordeal! And talk about an awesome outcome!
