So we did the "Pinhoti loop" (Chinabee, Skyway, Pinhoti) with Highlife and his Lovely bride to be. Sometimes you just can't beat good company to make a hike fun. This was one of the greatest hikes I have ever been on hands down. We experienced a little bit of everything from rain to cold weather along with some of the most varied terrain in Alabama. We started out at the Turnipseed trail head and went east up Talladega Mountain.
Many pictures have been added o the gallery. I have a trail guide and a really good digital map on the way from this one.

Well Flem...
For starters there were no poisonous snakes, no bandana envy, and absolutely no mermaids. I went from being a camping goddess to being a stinky -short strided- backpacker.

Well, snakes and envy I can just do w/out, but never mermaids.

Just to let ya know, the older 2 mermaids will be swimming in the Lil' Pigeon River, next week; as Nana will be taking them to the Elkmont CG in GSMNP for 5 nights. And I leave for my AT section tomorrow so I won't get to see them off.  :'(
