Snake Trees & Narrows Ridge
«

Hello All,
I came upon a map of Lawrence County, Al. It has a couple of marked locations for "things of interest" in the Bankhead National Forest. It appears off of county rd 9 (FS208) there are markings for "snake trees" & "Narrows Ridge".
I vaguely remember reading something about the trees (cannot remember what or where), and the Narrows Ridge looks to be near the spot of the 203 Alt trailhead at Flannigan Creek.
Does anyone know of these 2 spots? Anyone ever been out to them?
Thanks. Eric

Snake Trees? Maybe one of the marker trees that was "shaped" into a funny position?
As far as I know, Narrows Ridge is just that, Narrows Ridge, which is marked on the Carto-o-craft as being between Braziel and Flanigan Creeks, and appears to have once had a road on it. I've only been up Braziel as far as Clifty Creek, but I didn't notice anything particularly interesting about the Narrows Ridge side of the creek. However, there is a really neat area on the second creek up Braziel from Borden on the opposite side, including a pretty nice waterfall.
