My good friend Mr. Parkay has updated his ever-so-popular PNRT maps and wanted to share the info.  You can find the full info on the maps here:

That is absolutely fascinating. Thank your good friend Mr. Parkay. He's a sterling individual in my book.

Mr. Parkay"s maps agree with SOLO's Pinhoti Trail Pocket Guide so I assume that is the current road walk.  HOWEVER, when I was last at Bull Gap TH, I saw a blue blaze east of the Gap although the map and pocket guide have all the trail west of the Bull Gap TH.  I went exploring and found a very clear road trail blazed, after the one blue blaze, with white paint.  The blazes were almost over done and they took me to the first road east of Bull Gap, double blazed with a turn to the south, and then a lot of blazes for a few miles.  I stopped so I do not know where the blazes would have taken me.  The white blazes were definately just that, blazes, with double blazes at the appropriate turns.  Any idea what these blazes meant?

There are 2 different blazed road walks... the one that PTA did and the one that AHTS did in conjunction with the Forest Service.  I personally believe that the road walk blazed by the AHTS is a much safer one to walk.  As the woods trail building progresses, this will obviously be a non issue.
MD, the white blazes are the AHTS blazes and will guide you south to Flagg Mtn.

Thanks for the clarification Cuffs.  I only went a few miles but I agree with you, the AHTS route looks much more interesting and definately safer than the more traveled road Bull Gap crosses.

I had the older set, but will replace them with the new ones. Thanks!
