A belated Merry Christmas to everyone!!!

We had a *melting* white Christmas up here. PN-40 GPS looks pretty good, will do some testing once snow melts. Wink

Merry Christmas to all!!  I'm so glad I'm stumbled on AlaTrails.

Today would have been a mighty fine day to be in the Hemlock Zone  Cool

Cuffs, Happy New Year to you.  I am quite sure our trails will cross many times in the new year.

May you each have a wonderful new year too. It usually helps when we have had a joyful Christmas from the giver of immortal gladness ( as the song on my radio just said).

My cycling friend and I got hooked up with 4 Georgia guys  (thanks to Mobill) , for a planned 2 nighter on the AT from Dicks Creek/ US76 back to Neels Gap / US129. This was Sat-Mon. We got to the store late, missing the shuttle, but everything worked out better for us than the other 4 guys as one guy had hip pain and didn't even make it to the first shelter. So I gave him my car key and two of them went back and then our car was shuttled back for us even though the two men went to the local man's home !!  The other two guys also bailed after the first night since they didn't want to make their buddy wait for them for another two days in the Mountain Crossings hostel I suppose.

We had rain blowing in on the 7 dwarfs in the Trey Mountain Shelter the first night. 2nd day was also foggy and Penny and I were all alone after the others bailed. We had only the mouse with us in Low Gap shelter but Monday dawned crisp and clear and we finished the 36+ miles by crossing paths with at least 20 other hikers and several dogs. Sorry, no pictures .
