Hi all,

Has anyone done any overnighters in Vermont.  I'm visiting a friend and interested in doing at least a weekend trip.  Was hoping for recommendations, could be the long trail/at but loops probably best for us.

Thanks,

charlie

I've heard good things about the AMC huts in the Whites. Right now is ski season though.

Unfortunately, my only trip to Vermont was an in-and-out photo op with some orchids near the New Hampshire border. I was in-state for less than 6 hours, and 90% of that was driving.

However... The good news is that it is much easier to find hiking information for Vermont than Alabama!

Consider checking http://www.voga.org/Vermont_Recreation_Trails.htm or http://www.greenmountainclub.org/

You might also consider calling the ranger's office at one of the national forests in the area. They might be able to send you some literature in advance of your trip.
