I was in the local dollar store a few weeks ago and noticed they have pretty much everything you might need for a quicky food grab on the way to the trailhead. Tuna, chicken, noodle/rice mixes, gorp, cookies, breakfast items. Anybody tried making a quick weekend BPing trip w/ only Dollar store items??

I haven't tried the dollar store,  but I keep a two or three day supply in the pantry at all times. I can pack in about 30 to 45 min if I am not picky. I pick up trail food when they are on sale.

I wasn't aware they had such items, great tip, I am assuming they are available at a nominal cost.

Which kind of dollar store are we talking about?

The Dollar General type, with like some groceries and stuff, or the plastic trinket store? I won't buy ANY food from the latter, even if it is name brand and has an expiration date.

Good question Josh. I bet the plastic trinket one sells chicken in a can, even if it is a rubber one...........
