I went in Saturday, Valentine's Day, at the Randolph Trailhead.  It was overcast, but the temperature was tolerable.  I took the 202 trail to start my trek.  I got out there so early I didn't see anyone else along this portion of the trail.  It was easy walking for the first 2 miles.  After that the trail narrowed and the moisture from the rain the night before made it a little tricky to negotiate at times.  I came up to Feather Hawk Falls, which was beautiful, and then had a little trouble finding the crossing over the river to the 209 intersection.  I spotted what looked like an easy crossing and a bank I could get up.  The water was a little chilly, but nice.  Low and behold, when I got up the bank, there was the intersection marker.  It was a scenic 15 minute trek to where I camped.  A nice wide open area right next to a small creek.  I actually made this far faster than I anticipated.

The next day I continued along the 209 which was in good condition, but I would imagine in the summer it may be harder with all the foliage.  I really lost track of time as it was just so amazing along this part of the 209.  I finally came to the river crossing which was much easier to manage with all the rocks across.  This was my first time at this part of the trail and I missed the small 201 marker and went the wrong way.  It didn't take long as I was supposed to be moving away from the river and was still beside it.  I went back and spotted the sign, laughing at myself, and began the tiring hike uphill.  Not too much to climb over, just up...hill.  After reaching the top and the actual 201 trail, it is rather easy all the way back to the trailhead.  I really enjoyed this little loop.  I think I will have to do it again, but in reverse next time.
