Someone seems to be feeling a little mean spirited........ ......... Happy Trails, even if they are on a billboard!

Is it the same picture that was in Backpacker magazine?  You are definitely getting famous with two pics out there for the world to see.  Forget the books and DVDs though.  I think you should just become a hiker model.   Grin

That picture was also in an Atlanta newspaper if I recall correctly. Yes, I think hiker model would be the perfect occupation for me.

Funny thing is...I'm still using the same backpack from all those famous pics of me hehehe.

I told my Sergeant I am on a billboard and showed him the pic. He didn't believe me until I showed him the backpack.

Dude.  Are you wearing jeans?  Ouch!  Cotton kills!  Major rule of thumb backpackers adhere to... no cotton!

Guess before they had synthetics everyone was hikin' naked Embarrassed ........... I do agree that synthetics are more suitable and anyone that tries synthetics will usually become a convert, depending on hiking conditions. I still use coloumbia brand outdoor rugged pants during some winter hikes and they are 100% cotton. Darn rules and I just keep breakin' em!  Happy Trails in whatever you choose to wear.

It wasn't even a half day hike. I just put on what I felt was comfortable that day.

if they tried to put the billboard up in a blue or green state, the safety and fashion police might make AHTS change you into synthetic zip-offs, organically grown wool socks with synthetic liners, hat and sunscreen on the head, two trekking poles in hand and a report of latest fire danger alert would be in a pocket as well, right beside the 2 bags with used and unused TP.

geez, where did the time go - its 1 am
