So the whole "Pack Weight" discussion got me thinking....

What is an item that you seem to put in your pack every trip and never use?

My big one:  An extra can of fuel.  My Primus uses the pressurized propane mix, and I can't seem to go out unless I have 2.  I have a fear of eating half cooked, partly warm food I guess.

Pack cover, you know if it rains.... The one time I did leave it at home it poured buckets! I take it every time now.

Multi-tool. I have never used mine on the trail. In 20 plus years of packing I have only seen one instance when one was used. Actually it was before multi tools and the (my) Scout Leader had a small pair of needle nose pliers He forgot to take out of His pocket till we sat down for the first break.
