Ok, another queston just for fun.  Do you (I'm sure we all do) have an experience where you forgot something at home and didn't realize it until you got to the trail head (or worse...on the trail).  Something that just really effected the rest of your trip.

I've got 2.
1.  Forgot fuel for my stove. (maybe that's why I always carry two now).  Made due with building a cathole, but when your set up is geared towards using a stove.....sure makes cooking a longer process.  Nearly made me call of the trip (discovered when gearing up at the trailhead)

2.  My Spork.  Made due by making a "spoon" out of a stick but was seriously unhappy when I opened the lid of my pot to find it wasn't there.  Just nuisance...on day 4 I REALLY missed my spork.

Silly question back at ya... what does building a cathole have to do with cooking/stove?

Not sure what you use your cathole for, but I know what mines for...   Lips Sealed

While I consider myself an expert cathole digger.......... I'm with you Cuffs, I don't recommend mixing the two.

Well... You might be able to mix the two if you bring a cow, and wait a few weeks. Wink

I guess you could use the same hole, but that is really taking the planing ahead to the extreme.

You were planning ahead I hope ..

Makes for a long wait to cook, but if you have the time.
