Anyone have current info on Walls of Jericho Trails?  Especially interested in knowing if water is plentiful or dried up due to drought.  Want to make sure the photo ops are there!  Planning on taking a hiking group on Sat. 12/8/2007.  Appreciate any replies from current hikers.  Thanks.

I'm not sure how much you have in the way of information regarding the Walls of Jericho, but here is a good bit of information from The Nature Conservancy that may be helpful. Also, here is a bit of information from Outdoor Alabama that may be able to fill you in a bit too.

In regards to the water situation, I had always been told that the water was lower beginning in September and usually stayed low until early spring of the following year, so with this drought, I'm really unsure on the situation. Sorry, I'm not much help w/ the water, but maybe you can use some of what I did show you to get you headed in the right direction.

From one of the articles, I found a phone # for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) - 615-781-6622 or toll-free 1-800-624-7406. I'm sure they may be able to help out as well.

Here's a list of just about everything there is to be found online in regards to the Walls:

You can get an idea of what the water level in the canyon might be by looking at the Paint Rock River:

Doesn't look like much at all right now...

// FYI //

Water levels were down considerably ... drought conditions still prevail in the area, but the Walls were quite beautiful.  Water was best earlier in the week and had tapered off by Saturday at the waterfall.
Thanks again to everyone who responded to my request.
