I'm looking for someone who has used the "extend a truck hitch" type canoe carrier.  I've thought about ordering one but would like an opinion of them from someone before doing so.  It looks like they could be used either to extend the bed or as a second support in conjunction with a roof type carrier.  Any opinions?

I got one and it works, i used it with my chevy truck and liked it fine. After we bought the landcruiser I added a roller to it so I can slide the canoe right on top. You are welcome to borrow it if you wanna try it  before you buy one.

McDowra, you came through just in time.  I can get free shipping if I order today!  Thanks for the recommendation and your kind offer.

Which Harbor freight did you do business with?  I had already called their 800 number and was told they didn't stock the "extend a truck hitch".  I haven't checked with a local store though.  Would appreciate any more info you have on this.

Thanks for the info.  I checked with the Harbor Freight store in Huntsville and they had it in stock and on sale through April 6th. $24.99 plus tax.  I appreciate your help very much.
