"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it while you can, while it is still there. So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards." I read about something similar in a Scouting article only you cut the weenie lenthwise, put the cheese inside the dog, then wrap in bacon.  It sounds GREAT!

How do you keep the bacon, cheese and dogs cool until you're ready to eat them.  If I start out hiking in the morning and plan this for dinner, that's a good 12 hours of not being cool.

I prepare mine the night before I begin the hike and put it in the freezer overnight.  Place it in a ziplok bag and wrap it in a towel or piece of clothing and pack it toward the middle of my pack.  Never had a problem.

That works with water also, just be sure and leave about half the bottle empty and fill before leaving home or hitting thetrail.

Ah, great idea.  Freeze it and then it thaws all day while you hike.  And you actually do all the prepwork at home before freezing.  Brilliant!
