Hello All,
Had another great weekend camping in the Sipsey. Is it possible to have a bad weekend camping? So far I have not.
Set up camp early Thursday morning at the Borden Bridge Trailhead and decided to do Trail 203. I think it is a very nice trail, most people do not realize that as they drive down Bunyan Hill road, there a nice bluffs and a couple small waterfalls right over the hill from their cars. Trail 203 takes you thru these nice places. Found three small 6-8 feet waterfalls flowing, and even found a new (new to me) cave. I had stopped to flagg a piece of the trail that was difficult to follow and I noticed the small stream flowing into the hill side.
I thought that streams don't flow into hill sides, so I climbed down and found the stream flowing into the opening of a cave. I could hear the water dropping into the hole, and it was big enough for a person to crawl into, but it would be a wet crawl. Since I don't like crawling, much less wet crawling, I decided to brings my sons back at a later date and let them explore it a little. They are in their early 20's and don't know any better yet.

While I was waiting for my buddy to arrive Friday, I made the trip to Caney Falls. My first time, and I was very impressed. Decided to take the side trail down to the lower falls, and that was very nice also. But the climb back to the car was a butt kicker!
Saturday my buddy and I spent the day back on 203 and the Borden Creek cave. As mentioned in an earlier post, Wild South is doing an excellent job flagging and clearing the trail! What a difference from a day before. If you have not done this trail yet, now is the time to do it.
Did not make it over to Mitchell Ridge Trail, but it is on the list for next time along with Salt Peter Sipsey Cave, and White Creek Bushwhack.
