I've never 'fished' for them at the sipsey, but I have seen a bunch...particul arity in Borden.
We have experimented with ways to catch them during Canoe Camping trips. We googled and found some traps that were DIY...they never worked.

What worked was one small trout net and two people.
one person lifts rocks or disturbs the area...while the other with the net catches the fleeing crawfish.

Remember crawfish swim backwards, so when you see them, put the net behind them....

Here are a few pics from one of our crawfish hunting adventure.
We just take some crawfish seasonings OlD bay and Zatarain's Crawfish sack, we take the small sack and open it...so we can use it more than once.
We just throw seasonings and crawfish all together...let them boil for 10 minutes...rollin g boil. yum.

Some old guy told me one time that if you just take a stick, with some string...tie on some bacon...the crawfish will grab a hold of the bacon, when it does pull it out.

Never tried crawfishing here, but learned how on a Sierra Club trip to Valley Forge Military Park last year. We were catching all we could in one stream to remove the invasive specie and releasing all the native ones. I was the only person that said I'd eat' um back at our "house". I think we boiled about 15 and a few others tried them after boiling.

Only needed 1 person with the net. Just hold the net downstream while you turn over a rock to the side with the other hand. Sweep immediately even before you see a crawfish.  semicircle net preferred; but I don't remember if thats what we used or not.
