Looking to end a section and begin another at Rabbittown Road.  With the recent arson there, I was wondering if there's ever been any problem with cars left there?  Anyone know?

There is always a chance but overall, the TH should not be considered risky.  I've used it numerous times and never had a problem.  But, it only takes one drunk or kid wanting to act stupid to ruin someone else's day.  If you are really worried, use you wife's car...... (Hey, I'm just kidding).

We ended up hiking south from Pinky Burns and parked at the Ranger station with no problems.  It actually worked out better because we were able to get in the woods just before dark and hike to Choccolocco Shelter to stay on Wednesday night.  We then did leisurely 10 milers to Laurel and Lower Shoal, both great shelters in beautiful locations.

I think I saw your journal entry at one of the shelters, Rigormortis.
