I have a bad problem of getting eat up by bugs :'(. So I'm just wondering what everyone uses for bug spay? I just saw some stuff called BUG OFF (I'll try and find a link) that the store owner would bet his life on. It's not the stuff you get at wal-mart. It has a thick oil base.

100% deet is great, if your body can stand it.  Some people will develop a rash with deet.  I use some 100% deet products in Colorardo where the bugs are unbearable, but Ive never had any skin reactions.  I bought a small bottle and did a test on small parts of my arm before using it in real life.

We carry a small bottle of OFF, but we also carry a  Thermacell. It's another pound in the pack but one of those things I want with me. I always set it up at the entrance to the tent to keep the bugs out of the tent when the door is unzipped, zipped, unzipped, zipped, etc. I  cannot sleep when there are creatures buzzing in my ear in the tent. It's also nice when we want to just sit outside in the night air for hours without a fire. It creates a shield wide enough for two and keeps the pests away.
