Just got back from paddlin Talladega creek. OMGoodness what a beautiful place. If you have never been there you must see this place. You can paddle this creek in a canoe or kayak. You might want to scout & portage around Rob Roy Rapid if you are not sure of your abilities. Other than that it is mostly class I & II stuff. You must catch it after a good rain. It will hold for about a day. 800 cfs minimum at put in. Absolutely beautiful 7+ mile run. takes about 3 hours with an occasional stop.
We saw 2 guys on the RR bridge at the tunnel and while we were talking to them a train came through. They were caught on the bridge. They had to step put on a small platform while the train went by. Too funny, one of them's hat blew off and landed in the creek. See the pics. Anyway it was 7+ miles of virtually unspoiled beauty. Go check it out. Carl W.
