Do any of you girls use a stand to pee (STP) device.  I saw several versions of them for sale and decided to try it out.  Its GREAT. You don't have to get half  undressed to pee. You can stand up and simply unzip  place the device next to you and go. No exposeding your self or worrying about getting poison ivy where it does not belong. You also save on toilet paper because you use the back of the STP to wipe yourself off with. ( trust me this works). You may be thinking yuck pee covered thing in my pack but they are made to shed water vary well. all you do is shack it off and put it in a bag. when you set up camp a drop of Dr Bronners soap and a quick rinse is all it needs.  The one i use is just a CVS pill sorter. Its looks like a spoon rest but deeper. Hear are some links to STP's you can check out.

1.  Use a pee rag instead of TP, no TP wasted then.
2.  Hike in a skirt, no exposure issues.
3.  Yes, I have tried some of them.  Not as fail-safe as they claim.

I wont bother carrying the extra weight and one more thing to keep track of.

Freshette left me not so fresh  Embarrassed  It was hard to maneuver, stiff and bulky. Always test these things at home first, and in the shower if necessary.

I have managed to find a standing position myself. Think the "chair" yoga pose with arms round the hips and not in the air.

{Here follows TMI...I warned you!}

Don't squat, just drop pants below hips, lean forward a bit, reach round and pull any extraneous folds of skin out of the way and let nature take its course. Everything jets out backwards and I'm sure just the right samba moves and I could write my name.

What can we all do to avoid getting out of the tent when nature calls at 3 am on a frigid, or buggy night (Q)

I have no idea, other than carrying an extra bottle, or making a water bottle multi-purpose, plus certain adapters where needed, but surely our great minds working together can come up with better.

as long as the bottle has a wide mouth my STP ( aka sheneis) works just fine if i don't wont to leave the tent.  sure beats having to stumble around in the dark.

Until you slip and fall on your snoring tent buddy with an open container.   Shocked

I rarely have to get up in the middle of the night, so its never been an issue for me.  When I have, I just tough it out and go.  The sleeping bag doesnt hardly have time to cool off, so you climb back into a warm bed.
