This weekend I'm thinking about going fishing from my kayak and just finding a place to camp along the shore and go home the next day. Anyone know any good places? I respect no trespassing and don't plan to make a fire. Anyone who would like is also welcome to join me.
Also how are the bugs near waterways with this cooler weather?

If you are still looking for a place for some kayacking and fishing in cooler weather I would suggest the Escatawpa River. You put in on Ferry Road and the take out is the Escatawpa Hollow Campground. The whole trip, if you paddle on, is about 5 hours. It's a nice flat easy float. The elevation drop is about 1.5 or so feet per mile. The average width of the river is about 50 feet and it's a nice trip.

mich4076 - if you are still looking for a place to kayak and camp the escatawpa is a really good choice. LOTS of sandbars for overnighting. I kayak and camp the escatawpa at least 3 or 4 times a year.
My son and i took a 20 mile trip down the Cahaba in August. From the Alabama Small Boats launch to our take out at "the Slab". you will find places to camp but they are likely to be gravel not sand bars. This is a great trip as it passes through the Cahaba National Wildlife Refuge.
Others we have camped are the Okatoma just north of Hattiesburg, MS.
