Hey, WSG!  Glad you found us here.  Jump right in and join the fun.  Where are you from?  I love going hiking and camping with my kids, too.  They are all grown up now, but I still manage to get them out in the woods fairly often.  See you on the trail.

Thanks guys! Im in the Danville area, not to far from sipsey.

By some internet searching and with the old Carto-Craft I have managed to find a few waterfalls and a tree. Thats what Ive been doing out there so far but have enjoyed being out there anytime.

So far, I found the easier ones I guess.

Sougahoagdee (SP??) Falls
Fall Creek Falls
Lower Turkey
Upper Turkey
The Big Tree

Now looking for some more..!

You'll find lots of info here.  Welcome aboard and good hiking.

Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards." Welcome and please allow me to make a few comments.

First off - man if I lived at Danville I would be in Bankhead a lot! I am just north of Athens and I still go to Bankhead 6 or 8 times a year.

Second thing - You need to see Caney Creek Falls. Also, if you didn't find it already, find and hike the unofficial trail from Whie Oak Hollow to Bee Branch. Also you will want to see the Shiprock and the Eye of the Needle on trail 206. The Borden Creek area is real pretty.

Good luck and be safe!

Good call there, Caney Creek Falls is top on my list. Im actually thinking of going next week sometime. Im off during the week after Tuesday and hoping to find some good weather for it.

The kids are wanting to go back to the big tree and I was hoping to take them by the ship rock and eye of the needle also. Seems from what Ive read/found to be a more interesting trip.

Id be out there more too if i didnt have 3 kids 10b-10b-8g, but we are going more and more since we have lived this close these last 2 yrs and get more confident.

Thanks again!
