Finishing up two papers for class tonight, but I FINALLY got some photos online.  I will have to write the trip report this weekend [assuming I'm not out camping at buck's pocket], but for your enjoyment....
http://www.weathermansam....p/100409sipsey/index.html

Wolfpen Falls, Fernglade Falls, Hemlock Falls, Little Ugly Falls, Deer Skull Falls, Eagle Creek Falls, assorted other unnamed waterfalls...

....as well as the junctions of wolfpen/sipsey, little ugly/sipsey, fernglade/hemlock/eagle creek w/ little ugly... you get the idea.

There are also some photos north along Eagle Creek from the Eagle Creek campsite, including what I assume was marking a bee tree [big "x" with an arrow pointing up]

OH, at wolfpen cemetery, there was a small kiosk designating this a "hiker trail"....can anyone elaborate on this?

Also, there's a photo or two in there of a campsite at the junction of little ugly and eagle creek....  It wasn't there before, and I did my best to erase any trace of it's existence as we left.

Hello Weathermansam,

Your picture of the small kiosk reminds me of the small kiosk on 201/202 where the trail from the parking lot, rejoins the road.

Yeah, it does resemble it.  it had some papers inside still, but a lot of the writing was too degraded to read.

Looks like you had a killer trip. Since you went by Wolfpen Cemetery I assume you came in from the Co Rd 60 direction?

Yeah, the initial plan was to hike all the way up eagle creek to the randolph trailhead [we started at wolfpen cemetery of course].  That got abandoned and we just hiked up to Cranal rd. and walked the last mile.  My trail buddy was ready for it to be over with.  Apparently when I said I was doing a bushwhack he didn't think I was serious.   Next time I'm taking the other route out from the eagle creek campsite.

Man you made a hell of a lot more tracks out there than I did. Nice gallery.

It was an awesome hike, except toward the end there.  I'm definitely doing more bushwhacking come winter.  Either day hikes or overnighters.  Riddle creek, quillan, hurricane creek, I hear nothing but good things about those areas.

Very nice pictures.  You've got to go back after a couple of days of rain. Those waterfalls will just explode.

So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards."
