Sipsey Wilderness

I'm taking the 18-75mm f/3.5-5.6 & the 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 lenses with me. Which has been plenty.

However, I just purchased a 50mm f/1.4. I really like this lense and wouldn't mind using it, but will there really be that much of a NEED for it that I can't accomplish with the others?

Sure low light, but is that it?

Just curious if the other's would bring all 3 or not...

I haven't found my 50mm to be extra useful unless taking portraits or close ups(flowers, insects, etc).  Obviously low light but if you have a tripod and a good camera that can take a decent ISO it may not be necessary.  That being said...I never go anywhere without my 50mm because it's light and opens up a whole new world in depth of view.  But for general wide angle shots it won't be useful.

I rarely carry my 50/1.8 because I now own a 100/2.8 macro which largely religated it to low-light and occasionally extension tube usage. Well, that is why I rarely USE it. I stopped carrying it because the Canon 50/1.8 "plastic fantastic" lens, while fairly sturdy and very sharp, has a tendency to roll away from you. And by that I mean I got tired of chasing it down hills. Wink
