Hello All,

A group of guys from my office spent a great weekend camping. Mobilebackpacker was right, the trailhead at Borden Creek was packed last weekend. I counted 14 cars on Saturday. 8 guys in my group spent the weekend camping and exploring Caney Falls Area.
It was a good time.

Thursday night Richard and I went out to secure the large spot immediately left of the bridge. And once the sun set, it was dark!
Last weekend was a new moon, and the cloud cover was 100%. We went on top of the bridge around 8pm, and turned off our head lamps, and as I mentioned it was dark. So dark, that you could not see your hand in front of your face. It felt like we were in one of the caves.

Friday evening the rest of the party arrived, and we set out building a large fire and cooking our meager dinner. The menu for the night was pork kaboobs marinated in white wine, steak, and chicken in stir fried vegetables. Man! We were roughing it!

Saturday was spent over at Caney Creek Falls. Many of the guys had never been to the Sipsey before and the falls did not disappoint.
That night was followed by another large fire, and we needed it with the temps in the low 40's.

Sunday we packed up. There is a nice pile of wood left if anyone is heading out this weekend. Temp's were cool in the very low 40's at night, but my 20 degree bag was fine.

Water levels are very high for this time of year, and all of the roads are very smooth with the recent rains.

Pictures and a couple short videos of Caney Falls are here if interested:

Great weekend. Next month I plan to do the 210 and mark it off my list.

Eric
