What a great day for hiking and meeting new people. We had about 35 hikers and the weather could have not been better. Had Lunch at Little Hillabee Falls which was flowing nicely. Thanks goes out to Jaybird and the others for the work getting this together and all the preparations that goes into a well planned event. Carl W.

Awesome pics!  It was a great day.  14 of the hikers were so hard core -- they insisted we do the 5.5 miles, then turn around and do them in reverse.  My knees are feeling the 11 miles!  No rain until I hit 459 coming back into B'ham!

Also, I had no idea today was opening day for hunting with guns in AL.  Several hunters WERE NOT HAPPY to see there prime spots spoiled with 35 loud hikers coming down the trail.  They were tactfully reminded that the woods belong to us too, and that it's probably not a good idea to hunt along hiking trails as hikers make noise.  Now they have an excuse for coming home with NOTHING on opening day
