Okefenokee Canoe Camping Trip Schedule

We have an Okefenokee Swamp paddling/camping trip scheduled for Feb 2010. We have openings for about 8 more paddlers. Maximum in party is 20.
We got our date locked in today. Driving down Wednesday, Feb 17th. Spending the night at the Stephen Foster State Park or getting a room nearby. Paddling Thursday, Friday, & Saturday and heading home Saturday Afternoon.
According to the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge Office we have to get a permit for overnight camping in the swamp. Permits are not issued over 60 days out. We will apply for the permit on Dec 18th. We have to launch no later 10am EST from each site to ensure that the overnight site is reached before dark. Check your calendar and let me know if you are interested.

Update: We called Friday morning @ 6am to make reservations. We described our dates and course route and there was a conflict for the 1st night at Floyd Island. So we might have to move one day later. I will find out Monday if we can reverse our course to keep the same days or move one day later. Either way, I will post definite details then.
