The Alabama Department of Transportation is proposing a new toll road to connect I-65 and I-10 in Baldwin County. The proposed route of the "Baldwin Beach Express" will effectively destroy the last wildlife corridor in Baldwin County, skirt the new properties purchased and protected by Forever Wild, and limit proposed new hiking areas in the county.
A "Public Involvement Meeting" meeting about this is scheduled for tomorrow night, Tuesday, Dec 15 from 4:30 to 7 p m in Bay Minette at the John F. Rhodes Civic Center, 301 D'Olive Street, Bay Minette, AL. If you can make it, please do so and voice your opposition to the road!
If you can't make it, the county will accept written opinions by email for 10-days after the meeting. You can send your letter to
vbeebe@co.baldwin.al.us Thank you for your support in this matter. Let's protect what's left of Baldwin County's rapidly diappearing wild areas!
