Sharing the warmth of our fire
Woosker Wonder Hole

Four of us (Pully, JB, Casey, & me) made a nice trip down to
Woosker Wonder Hole
in Franklin County. From where we parked we were about 250 feet from the entrance to the cave, but didn't know it, since none of us had ever been there before. We were doing our best with verbal directions given to me by someone a couple of months ago. We hiked around searching for the entrance and found several other caves. Finally Casey located the cave we were looking for. We spent about 3-4 hours in the cave. It was very interesting. There were lots of great formations. It has a stream of water flowing through just about all of the cave. There were some places where we were able to climb above the water, but other times we had to wade or crawl through it. That part wasn't easy nor fun, but we did it. I estimate we were over 1000 feet into the cave when we came to a place that we weren't prepared to rappel down beside a 20' waterfall, so we called it a day and headed back out. When we made our way back outside we were all soaking wet and the outside wind chill was freezing us to death. I'm glad it wasn't too far back to the vehicles and their heaters. Perhaps Pully will post some good pictures.

Been a while since I've sniffed through any caves. I'd like to get back into it. Next time you guys go, drop me a line. I enjoyed what I did of it in college. There's one in Weaver, AL that I used to frequent although vandals have destroyed the front and part of the interior with spray paint. Nothing as spectacular as this one you guys went too, great photos!

Wow, now I really wish I had went! I gotta get out of the woods every now and then I guess...lol. That is an amazing cave! I've been looking at rappelling rope and hard hats. Count me in on future ventures.
