Scott's Lake

Well me and my boys were not able to do our hike during the Christmas break but fortunatley our Spring Breaks line up so I am planning our trip during that week. I was planning on us camping at Scott's Lake but was wondering about a couple of things;
1. Is there a suitable place to put up our 3 man tent close to the lake. 2. Is it possible there will be alot of kids/teens around due to spring break? I dont know how accessable/known the area is to those who dont hike.

I have not walked the entire perimeter of the lake, but where the trail does follow along side it I did not notice any suitable camping sites. I did stay here for an extended lunch/nap and the big thing I noticed is that there is alot of 4-wheeler activity in that area. There were also many signs of parties-past as evidenced by the many broken beer bottles, empty cans and cardboard cases strewn about...

I have only hiked the 1st portion of the Pinhoti and can say that about 90% of the trail is very easy to get to by 4 wheeler. The service roads or county roads run parallel within 20 or so feet of a majority of the trail. There are several nice sites on the North side of Scott lake right along the trail after Scott Cascades. One in particular is among tall cane that looks rather private. There are some old stone steps leading down to the lake there too (only 3 or 4). As cuffs said though, when I went through there were beer bottles and trash everywhere.

The Campground at Talladega Creek is nice and next to the creek. Would make for some good sleeping.

Trig's campground is about 5 miles from Porters Gap.
