Where are you guys going and what time you meeting?
We met today at my house at about noon.  We had a great afternoon.  We visited Coburn Cave for the first time.  We ended up discovering that it has 3 entrances (at least as far as we know).  The cave was honeycombed with different passages.  We didn't cover the entire cave.  We will go back and explore it further the next time.

After Coburn Cave we discovered another cave nearby on the same mountain.  We did not extensively explore all of this cave by any means.  We named it Buffalo Cave and I told Pully that the thing I liked about it the most is that I never had to crawl or stoop to walk in any of the sections we went in.  It was also very exciting to discover a cave that we didn't know was there.  We just had a hunch that there were more caves nearby and sniffed it out.  That was exciting.

When we left Buffalo Cave and walked back to the car, we drove a few miles to look for another cave that I had heard about.  We enjoyed hikinig and climbing in search of the cave, but we weren't successful in finding it.  We stopped by the house of the guy who told me about the cave, so that we could get better directions, but he was sick and asleep, so we will have to check back with him later.

Next we went to an area of Franklin County where I know there are caves.  Pully discovered a cave in the woods and we named it 52-1/2 cave.  We didn't go in this one, but we'll go back later and see what it has to offer.  Next we went and looked at the entrance area of Burcham Spring Cave.  It was getting late, so we didn't try to explore it today.

Bankheadboy, when I posted on Thursday night inviting anyone to come along, I know it was short notice.  Sorry you didn't know in time to come along with us.  You are welcome to come along on another caving trip.  I'll let you know when we are planning something.

On our caving trip today, we found out about a waterfall we didn't know about.  It is real close to the area where a couple of the caves were.  I'll do some detective work and see who owns the property that contains the waterfall so that we can go back and see it.  The lady who told us about it lives nearby and she said it is known to be quite impressive.  It is not a waterfall that I have heard anything about on any waterfall lists.  Pully is good to take plenty of pictures, so I'm sure he will post them after we return to see this waterfall.

By the way, I expect that Pully will soon post some pictures from today's caving activities.

Sorry I had the wrong date. I may head out in Bankhead to look in the morning for caves and will leave Wren store around 9:00 am Saturday if anyone wants to go be there. Look for white Chevy 4 door truck.

Seems a lot of us will be there, but unfortunately in different areas.   I'll be scouting out white creek and king's cove...I know someone else has mentioned they'll be in the quillan/riddle area.
