Hey fellow hikers I need to find a shuttler on the 27th of Feb to drive me back up the hill to Adams Gap from the Cheaha / Pinhoti trail parking lot there near the entrance of the state park. Any takers...I will be happy to pay for services rendered...Shoul d be a group of 4, two adults and two teenagers,,,(one is my son), we have hiked this trail a couple of years ago for Philmont training hikes and it was great...one time was early 2008 when it snowed and was around 5 or so degrees f. Had a great time. Some really great views.
Hopefully someone can help us out and make some cash at the same time. Happy Trails...

I have gotten a ride from the ranger at Cheaha, a couple of weeks ago. I asked the girl in the Cheaha store if the ranger was available, he was busy at the moment and I hung around for an hour. He was wiling to take us, he was also very friendly and talkative (he likes motorcycles) from Cheaha trailhead to Adams Gap. I will pm you closer to the weekend, If I can't get a shuttle from Jackson Chapel, I may be in that area. By the way, what time do you need the shuttle?

Thanks Luke for the info...I will definitely keep that in mind. The game plan as of now is to arrive at Adams gap a few minutes before 9am, drop off hikers and gear then travel back down the mtn to the parking lot, then hopefully find a ride back up...that would be great if you go help out, just let us know. Thanks again...

You will actually be hiking up the mountain starting at Adams Gap. A great section of trail, but take it easy and look for the blazes when you get close to stairway, I walked past the left turn when on the old road bed. The Cheaha trailhead is about 1/4 of a mile from the state park store. I would even call the store sometime this week and ask if the ranger will be available. There are alot of rv campers around the store in the morning that may be able to give you a shuttle.
