Sharing the warmth of our fire

We had a fantastic time on a bushwhack down areas of Little Bear Creek and connecting hollows in Franklin County.  We discovered a number of waterfalls and some very very impressive rock shelters.  There were quite a lot of Buzzards in the area all day.  It kind of gives you a weird feeling.  At one point 2 of our party were seen chasing an armadillo  through a hollow, trying to get a picture.  They never did get the picture, but it was a hoot watching them in hot pursuit.  We went to a couple of caves, nothing particularly great about them, it was a bit of a disappointment.  We searched a number of areas thinking we'd discover a good cave, but nothing to write home about.  The most interesting places on this hike were the waterfalls and the shelters.  I hope to go back and hike further in this area again.

Sounds like you had a great trip. I bet that was entertaining watching them chase an armadillo.
