Hi there:
I am a new member to this forum and I am so happy I found it while surfing around some of the local hiking websites!  I live in north Alabama.  My husband and I are both dog handlers on a canine search & rescue team (North Alabama Search Dog Assoc.).

We've hiked a good bit over the 15 years we've been married, but mainly dayhikes.  Time and situations haven't allowed for many overnight/extended hikes.  Hope that changes in the future though.  I'm getting this real urge to do an extended hike of the Pinhoti.  I'm going to try and make it to the workshop next month.

We are particularly fond of Bankhead/Sipsey Wilderness.  I swear I could hike the Wilderness for the rest of my life and would continue to discover new and exciting spots there.  I never get tired of going there.

My husband works rotating shifts, so many weekends I'm left with no hiking partner.  I hope through this forum I'll be able to catch up with others that may be taking a hike in the area.

Awesome. Great to have you aboard.
Keep your puppies away from my wife though. She may try to steal one from you.
