I've been in birmingham now for 10 years. I grew up in Montgomery though. Outside of a little jaunt to ATL and South Carolina I have been here most of my life.

Spent last weekend in Tuscaloosa for homecoming(my niece go there) had a blast, drank a little too much Maker's Mark though. Going home I checked out the Paul Grist State Park, nice little place to camp, quiet and peaceful.

Procon took me out to Sandrock and tried to kill me. He said "You can ride down this", this being the steepest, rockiest, loose soil decent I have ever seen. He then told me "You can ride up this", this being a 4 mile ascent up the side of a mountain.

I foiled his evil scheme. Two miles up I threw my bike in the back of a locals pickup truck and rode the final two miles up with the wind in my helmet. I happily waved at Procon as I whisked by with him sweating his way up the final mile.

I  took Sunday off as my legs cried.

Looking forward to this weekend.

You'll be strong Slade......that was a good one and the first time I have made it all the way up that miserable hill.

Rabbittown is a small town in the area of the Sipsey Wilderness too. It is located about 4 miles southeast of Balls Mountain on the map.
