New location for the Alabama Hiking Trail Society (Rivers Region Chapter) is going to be in Wetumpka, AL. 0n April 22, 2010 @7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on West Bridge St.  From Montgomery, AL. follow Hwy 231 north into Wetumpka until you pass Hardee's on left, you will take a left on S. Main St. at the RBC Bank, follow that road and take a left across the bridge, the church is on the right at the end of the bridge.  Parking is available at The Prissy Hen or in the church parking lot.  Do not park on road in front of the church as the city has reclaimed that as a second lane for traffic, you may get a ticket for parking here.
We will be meeting in the right wing of the church.  You do not have to be a member to attend.  Some of the thing that will we discussed at this meeting and future meetings will be organized hikes, hiking gear, safety, past hiking trips, programs pertaining to the outdoors, along with many other items of interest.  Hope to see everyone who has an interest in day hikes, over night and long distance hiking or anyone who would love to come you will be welcome there.

Hey Rigormortis.  I have had intentions for several months to attend a River Region Meeting but could never seem to get to Montgomery.  Wetumpka would be a better location for me.

I'll put the meeting on my calendar (again).  Looking forward to meeting some fellow hikers from the River Region.

I'd like to come sometime also, but can't next week. If I could come, I'd try to combine it with something else to make it a full day or two as it's a good 1 1\2 hour drive still for me.

sorry
