I saw a whole, whole lot of smoke when I was headed home yesterday (monday) early PM.  The smoke (did I say there was a whole lot of it) appeared to be coming from somewhere around Scott Lake.  Anyone know anything about a forest fire in that area.  I sure hope nothing more than a controlled burn is happening.

If im not mistaken, the forest service has suspended all control burns for now due to the high hazard (warm, dry) conditions.  That area falls under the Talladega office for the national forest, anyone called them yet?

There is a large area on their map to be burned from that area, but I don't know if that's what was going on.  Look on page three (the purple area) of the following map.  It's a large file, and you have to zoom in to see the detail.  Basically all of the areas along AL 148 from the Sylacauga city limits to Bull Gap has been burned in the last 3 weeks.
