After I got home I pulled 6 or 7 ticks off of me. Apparently, they only like certain people. I was the only one who had them. Well, besides the dog... Undecided
What can I do to combat these pesky things?

Will hike the Chimney Rock Trail on Saturday and will cover myself good with insect repellent, hope it works.

I'm going to try to make the hike with you guys. We also spooked some deer on the last mile out, pretty cool.

The CRATA area (including Deadening Trail) seems to be a tick magnet.  My brother has threatened to spray his shoes/boots and pants legs with pyrethrin to keep the buggers off.  Shocked

I wear long pants (of light color) to try and keep them off.  Also spray my shoes and lower pants legs with repellent.  As much as I enjoy CRATA I usually avoid it during the warm months because of the ticks!

Hmmm.... flamethrower....

I was thinking about hiking CRATA Saturday morning.  May join you all if that's okay.  How many folks do you expect?
