I usually do this on an overnighter. Hobo meal in a pouch.
Make a hamburger patty about 1/2 lb or a good cut of meat (pork or beef) about 1/2" thick
a nice size red potato sliced
6-8 carrot pieces
a few pieces of onion
several mushroom slices
salt & pepper
1-tsp worcestershire

Place ingredients into foil pouch, fold up and freeze overnight. Just before heading out wrap pouch in newspaper or paper towels. Place inside ziplock.
After setting up camp and getting fire started wait till you get a bed of coals. Unwrap foil pouch and place in the fire for about 15 mins. Keep an eye on the bag for swelling as it cooks. if the pouch starts to leak the liquid contents, move this side to the top with a stick to prevent all the liquid from escaping. Turn the bag occasionally to cook thoroughly. Remove from fire and let set to cool. Open pouch and enjoy.

Firedog, That's one of my all time favorite camping meals.  In fact, I cook this one at home in the oven and it's almost as good as around the camp fire.

"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it while you can, while it is still there. So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards."
