My plan this summer was to hike the Annapurna Circuit in the Himalayas of Nepal but plane ticket prices and Nepalese government red tape to get a permit to hike the Circuit cancelled my plans(not to mention it is the rainy season). So my plan now for next month is to go to Scotland and do the 96 mile West Highland Way from Glasgow to Scotland's highest peak, Ben Nevis. I think it will be a pretty interesting hike.

You go Chris!  Another one on my Life To-Do List.  Be sure and fill us in on some details.  The Highlands of Scotland should be awe inspiring.

You might even get to see "Nessie" while you're there. Shocked

Scotland is one of the very few places outside the USA I want to visit someday.  I'd love to do that hike.  Good luck and enjoy.

"It is not enough to fight for the land; it is even more important to enjoy it while you can, while it is still there. So go out there and hunt and fish and mess around.  Ramble out yonder, explore the forests, encounter the grizz, climb the mountains, bag the peaks, run the rivers, breathe deep of that yet sweet and lucid air. Sit quietly for a while and contemplate the precious stillness, that lovely, mysterious and awesome space.  I promise you this one sweet victory, over those deskbound people with their hearts in a safe deposit box and their eyes hypnotized by calculators. : you will outlive the bastards." My Scotland trip has been cancelled. I will be returning to Alabama for a little while though in two and a half weeks.

Hate to hear that your trip was canceled.  Maybe at a later time.  I know I am still hoping to one day get there.
