Did they build a shelter at Scott Lake? I say where is they were talking about doing so but I dont know if they have built it, I am planning a short overnighter there with my boys before it gets too hot.

I was there a year ago and did not see a shelter.  Haven't heard of any progress on it...

NO!  I was there in March and there was no sign of a shelter or work on one.  If one is built, I hope it is not beside the lake.  There was a lot of trash, cans and garbage, around the lake so any easily reached shelter will be trashy very quickly.  Nothing like reaching a shleter and sharing with a bunch of drunk loud mouths.

Thanks for the info M.D., yeah I hope that there are none of those types of people around when we are there, if so we will just keep moving.

Aw, drunk loudmouths are entertaining. The SEHowl group never tires of retelling about the drunk, loudmouth local that drove by at Buck's Pocket and yelled out their window - "Ya'll have any wimens?" or the one that stumbled over to our campsite (actually a pretty nice fella, all told) and, dead serious, asked Trot Fox (who must have levitated his hybrid with about 3 inches ground clearance out to the site each year) "Me and my wife were having an argument so chouldja tell me. did you really drive that thing out here?" (We wanted to say, 'Naw, we had it dropped by helicopter - here's your sign.") It was also heart warming to see the locals congregating and spending quality time together maintenancing and spray painting their dune buggies, or the time the local linemen (buddies of the ranger) built an uberbondfire and left it blazing up into the trees.

Yes, loudmouth drunks are a national treasure - entertaining and inspiring.
