Meet at Warrior Trading Post for hike.  Usually moderate 3-7 miles.  Bring lunch and water, camera, and wear trails shoes or boots.  Usually break into three groups.  Leave trading post around 9:15, hike ends between 2:30 and 5:00 pm. 

Three hikes!  You pick between:  For more info Go to WildSouth.org and look for "get out there"

Sougahogadee Falls-   falls, bluffs, Brushy Creek and arborglyphs.
Indian Tombs Hollow -  history, marker tree, cemetary, beautiful stream, beaver.
Turkey Foot Falls and Fall Creek Falls - Waterfalls, streams, creek crossing, old cars, Sipsey Rec area parking fee.

I'm certainly supportive of the idea of a monthly hiking event. Depending on the location, I'll probably be interested, too. I'm already starting to plan out the spring, and I have a number of things I want to photograph before I leave Alabama. I'm certainly going to be interested in a bunch of spring wildflower hikes in Sipsey when the appropriate time arrives.
