Anyone interested in setting up a gear swap/yard sale for hikers or something of the sort. Get it going before it starts to cool.

I don't think that is a bad idea at all, I don't have a lot of spare stuff anymore, but I have a few things I could contribute depending on if I can get there or not.

It might be a good thing I dont know I just hear people talk about it once in a while so I thought I would through it out. Just looking for a way to get more involved with hikers in this area.

I attended an AHTS annual meeting outside Mobile a couple of years ago.  They had something similar to this set up.  They did not have much though.  It's a great idea if there is good participation.  It would help us recycle gear to those not ready to invest in the newer gizmos and possibly increase visibility of hiking clubs.  I'm more likely to go to meetings if there is gear involved.

I think it's a great idea. I have gear that I don't use and need to get rid of.
