icebreaker 220 is my personal fave. It feels better against the skin and works better for low moisture environments which is mostly what you experience while hiking. I like capeline better for high moisture environments like kayaking.

I use Icebreaker socks and will give them Rave reviews in the quality and comfort category.  I'm willing to bet their undergarments are just as bad ass.  I like these socks signifigantly better than ANY other socks I have had including all of the top brands.

I honestly just use under armor type base layers then cover it in fleece, if the wind whips up, I will cover that in a shell type cover.  I have yet to have any issues using this type of setup anywhere in the South East.

I am currently considering a down puffy sweater, and a better shell at the moment.  I haven't found that I need it, it will however save me some weight and bulk.

I normally wear the Under Armor as well and it seems to keep me pretty warm.

I use Under Armor bottoms and a Capilene 3 top. I like the feel of a slightly loose top vs super snug Under Armor.

Capeline tops and bottoms.  I have had them for years.
