I don't know, it worked for changing the topic on another thread so I figured what the hell. There's beating a dead horse and then there's kicking it's skeleton. We're doing the latter.

In all seriousness though,
habitat for humanity,
locals churches,
contact Pete Conroy at Jacksonville State or Renee Morrison, they head up the JSU Field School, Chief Ladiga trail and other projects.
There are historical societies in the area,
there are several newspapers you could send editorial into.
I have a friend who works for the newspaper in Piedmont that I might be willing to see if he's willing to do a story on them.
There used to be a friend's of group for terrapin creek.
Check the local Sierra club that does hikes in that area!
Yeesh, there's the alabama trails association,
there's the pinhoti trail alliance,
you could volunteer for master gardeners,
you could start an advocacy group and begin fundraising for a kiosk at the trailhead.
You could inquire with local scout groups about making an eagle project of some sort and volunteer to do the work.
Go to juvie facilities and chat with someone,
go to detention centers or whatever they call them these days and talk with troubled kids.
There's the archaeology dept at JSU that might need help with someone.
Contact the radio station at the college.
Contact the college newspaper see if they want a story, a scoop.
Contact John Croyle of the Big Oak Ranch and see there's not something you can do for him.
Contact one of these retreat camps and see if they need help building something, or maintenance.
I'm on lunch break, but Red, send this list on to your friends. If they need more ideas on how they can help out, I'm sure I can continue rattling things off when I'm home this afternoon.

Sir that is the most productive post I seen on this particular forum and thank you I will be more than happy to pass this along.
